[/vc_wp_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][mk_divider thickness=”1″ margin_top=”0″ margin_bottom=”10″][vc_wp_text]Â鶹ֱ²¥ is pleased to shared this report on the workshop was held in the city of Hun, the municipality of Al-Jufra, from 28 February to 5 March, 2023. The focus of the workshop was climate change and its impact on the cultural heritage of Libya. The workshop was made possible by the Office of Cultural Affairs at the US Embassy in Tripoli Libyan External Office (LEO) and our partners working on the Libyan National Museum Suitcase Project.Partners:

Visiting the original ancient city in Hun, called Al-Huwaila. Because of the continuous climatic changes and the increase in drought and desertification, this ancient city was completely covered by sand, and its inhabitants abandoned it to another ancient city in the heart of present-day Hun.[/vc_wp_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”88474″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”.vc_custom_1680016564385{margin-right: 10px !important;padding-right: 0px !important;}”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”88483″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”.vc_custom_1680016589991{margin-left: 10px !important;}”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][mk_padding_divider size=”20″][vc_wp_text]An expanded working session with members of Thakirat Almadena the Memory of the City Association and members of the Community Partnership Group. The session took place at the headquarters of the City Museum, which was the headquarters of the Italian military administration, and it is a beautiful palace built in the twenties of the last century. The session was for preparations for the theoretical side of tomorrow’s workshop, as well as studying the possibility of installing a solar energy unit to manage the building. In addition to building a real partnership with the Memory of the City Association, which has 30 continuous years in the field of serving civil, community and cultural work.

Visit the headquarters of Thakirat Almadena the Memory of the City Association in the old Ottoman castle or fort, which was renovated and used by the Italian military authority. A panel discussion on the establishment of a desert museum in the castle.
Theoretical side, lectures, and interactive panel discussions with all attendees and partners on:
- Climate change and its impact on the cultural heritage of Libya
- Human tampering with antiquities.
- The state of Libyan antiquities in the current situation, samples and models.
53 specialized, semi-professional and interested persons attended this specialized workshop.
